TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHR) – The Tribune-Star of Terre Haute and Wabash Valley published an apology on their website and social media Sunday.
The apology came in response to an ad for AR-15 style rife in Saturday’s paper.
In their statement, the Tribune-Star says the ad “did not meet the paper’s standards for advertising content.
“The ad should not have published and we have put in place safeguards to ensure the breakdown in our advertisement vetting process does not happen again,” the statement went on to say.
The ad and the apology have sparked many opinions online with some commenting, “freedom of speech” and “stop censoring.”
